ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Assist Director of Nursing with directing, evaluating, and supervising patient care and initiate corrective action as necessary.
- Assess patient care needs and develop individualized plans of patient care.
- Assess patient needs and make recommendations for special rehabilitation programs.
- Evaluate patient care as related to individualized patient needs, family involvement, and physician’s plan of care.
- Conduct or provide patient care conferences.
- Assess patient responses to medication and treatment, and make appropriate nursing action recommendations.
- Provide medications, treatments, diets, rehabilitation and restorative care to patients in accordance with physician’s orders and patient’s individual needs.
- Report problems to the Administrator, conduct daily patient rounds, and initiate corrective action as necessary.
- Direct and implement educational programs, quality assurance program, and infection control program.
- Establish open lines of communication with consultants and consistently follow up action on recommendations.
- Make recommendations of level of care determinations based on physician’s documentation and plan of care.
- Coordinate the care planning/MDS process and committee meetings as necessary.
- Promote the image and reputation of the System by exhibiting servant leadership and providing direct and open lines of communication.
- Contribute to the work of committees, work groups, project management, and other collaborative efforts of the System.
- Perform other duties as necessary to ensure the success of the System.
A minimum of two years of experience in a supervisory capacity in a hospital or long-term care Nursing Center. Should have training experience in rehabilitative and restorative nursing practices. Should have education, training, and/or experience in one of the following: rehabilitative nursing, geriatric nursing and/or Psychosocial nursing.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSRN nursing degree from an accredited college or university. Georgia RN License.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESNone.
LANGUAGE SKILLSAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or associates of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLSAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
REASONING ABILITYApply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram format. Deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
COMPUTER APPLICATION SKILLSProficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
