Responsibilities

The staff nurse provides nursing care to patients from birth through the lifecycle utilizing nursing processes to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the care for patients. The nurse functions within the framework of the organization’s policies and procedures, demonstrates professional growth and accountability, maintains standards of practice, and coordinates patient care activities of all assigned staff in the provision of quality nursing care.

Education

• Graduate from a recognized, accredited school of nursing (Required)
• Bachelor’s Degree (Preferred)

• No experience required;
  New graduates of a nursing program eligible (Required)
• Practicing nursing experience in a hospital setting (Preferred)
• 1 year in a hospital setting for PRN positions (Preferred)

• RN – Registered Nurse – Georgia State licensure and/or NLC/eNCL multistate licensure (Required)
• BCLS – Basic Life Support (Required)
• Advanced certification in field of specialty, if applicable (see addendum)

• Cardiac Tele:
  Additional required certifications: ACLS (Required within 180 days)
• Critical Care:
  Additional required certifications: ACLS (Required within 180 days)
• Dialysis:
  Additional required certification: CDN (preferred)
• Emergency Department:
  Additional required certifications: ACLS and PALS (Required within 180 days)
• Infusion/Oncology:
  Additional required certification:
  Chemotherapy/Biotherapy (Required upon hire)
• Pediatrics:
  Additional required certifications: PALS, PEARS or PALS (Required within 180 days)
• Surgical Services:
  Additional required certifications:
  Pre Op/PACU/ENDO/CSU ACLS; PALS if unit provides care to pediatric patients (Required within 180 days)
• Women’s Services:
  Additional required certifications:
  Labor and Delivery‑ACLS, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring, Mother/Baby‑NRP, NICU‑NRP, and NAT‑NRP (Required within 180 days)
