Responsibilities
  • Multi-task by triaging multiple patients, including obtaining vital signs, updating patient information and providing patient education.
  • Complete referrals (outgoing and incoming).
  • Process prescription refills and obtain authorizations.
  • Assist with procedures and complete necessary forms.
  • Manage multiple phone calls.
  • Perform independent assessment of patient needs.
  • Work closely with the physician and consult as needed for patient care.
  • Support the MD with follow-up tasks: completing forms, returning calls, and other duties.
Qualifications
  • Current Georgia Practical Nursing license.
  • Clinical experience involving direct patient care.
  • Phlebotomy experience.
  • CPR certification within 6 months of hire.
  • Caring, compassionate demeanor with strong communication, interpersonal, and organization skills.
  • Medical office experience preferred (but not required).
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Ability to apply standard nursing techniques across a wide variety of patient care situations. General knowledge of primary care patients and foundational understanding of cardiac, pulmonary, and endocrine disease processes. Proficiency using electronic medical record systems for office patients (e.g., eMDs, eClinical Works). Experience with pharmaceutical prior authorizations and point‑of‑care testing. Competence in performing blood draws and administering injections. Preparedness to perform Basic Life Support and CPR in cardiac/pulmonary arrest scenarios.

Basic computer literacy and ability to complete medical charting, including ICD and CPT coding. Strong customer service skills, maintaining a professional yet friendly disposition. Flexibility and willingness to adapt to change. Ability to remain composed in difficult situations and seek supervisory assistance when appropriate, while working independently and exercising sound judgement regarding physician involvement. Positive attitude, initiative, and effective communication.
