Description:
The Registered Nurse will work in a fast-paced environment focusing on Med Surg/Tele patients. The unit consists of 30 beds with an average census of 30 patients. Patients commonly include post/pre-cardiac patients and step-down ICU patients. Common diagnoses include CHF, COPD, STEMI, NSTEMI, and Sepsis. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4-6, with designated CNAs assisting with patient care. Key skills required include wound care, post-operative monitoring, and cardiac monitoring.
Telemetry interpretation skills are essential. Additional responsibilities include discharge planning and patient education, particularly in renal and fluid management. Support staff includes CNAs who assist with vital signs, glucose checks, and patient transportation. Resource nurses and a dedicated telemetry monitoring team provide additional support. The position involves working 5-6 weekend shifts out of 12 on a six-week schedule. Holiday expectations include working one shift of each major holiday.
