Position Overview
Clinical Nurse Manager – HOPE Center, North Central Health District (NCHD).
Location:
Macon, GA (Bibb County). Candidate must live within a reasonable commuting distance. No relocation assistance is offered.
The role involves overseeing the programs, staff, and clinical services of an infectious disease clinic within the public health department, coordinating care for individuals living with HIV/AIDS. The Clinical Nurse Manager leads nursing and case‑management staff, performs managerial duties, and collaborates with pharmacy and behavioral health services.
PrimaryDuties & Responsibilities
- Ensure seamless coordination between clinical care and case management for better patient throughput.
- Plan, organize and direct both nursing staff and case management teams.
- Stay up‑to‑date on infectious diseases, Ryan White eligibility requirements, and case management procedures.
- Serve as liaison between Quest Lab and the HOPE Center.
- Assist with patient navigation and address patient concerns.
- Facilitate interdisciplinary teamwork among nursing, case managers, and medical staff to optimize patient outcomes.
- Lead monthly clinical and case management staff meetings.
- Verify electronic health records for accuracy to ensure staff documentation is clear and concise.
- Oversee infection control protocols and track medication supply.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols to reduce risks of medical errors.
- Identify and eliminate bottlenecks to improve efficiency across the agency.
- Monitor, develop and update clinical policies and procedures.
- Conduct clinical chart audits monthly and quarterly.
- In coordination with NCHD Human Resources, manage staff recruitment, selection, orientation, ongoing training, and disciplinary actions.
- With HOPE Center management, create, manage, and maintain staffing schedules to ensure adequate coverage during operating hours.
- Ensure a plan for orienting and training new staff in their day‑to‑day tasks and responsibilities.
- Empower and develop Hope Center case managers, eligibility supervisor, and employees to their highest potential.
Bachelor's degree in nursing from an accredited college or university and five (5) years of experience as a Registered Nurse, with two (2) years in an administrative or supervisory capacity and a current Georgia license as a Registered Professional Nurse; or eight (8) years of experience as a Registered Nurse (HCP
073) or position equivalent, with two (2) years in an environment related to the area of assignment, four (4) years as a supervisor, and a current Georgia license as a Registered Professional Nurse.
- Knowledge of HIV/AIDS treatment and antiretroviral therapy (ART).
- Demonstrated success in process improvement to increase agency efficiency.
- Advanced proficiency in Electronic Health Records (EHR) and data analytics for clinical outcome reporting.
- Strong conflict resolution skills and experience in professional staff development and mentorship.
The use of physical activity breaks during the workday is authorized to support wellness. Employees may take a maximum of 30 minutes per workday in the form of two 15‑minute breaks or one 30‑minute break.

Current State employees are subject to State Personnel Board rules regarding salary. DPH accepts educational credentials recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and/or the U.S. Department of Education (DOE).
