Program Overview

Our 12‑month Nurse Residency program begins October 2026 and transitions new graduate nurses from student to professional practice through education, mentorship, and peer support. The curriculum combines precepted orientation with blended learning experiences.

• Develop the clinical judgment needed to rapidly recognize changes in patient condition and the urgency of clinical situations.
• Cultivate excellent communication skills to engage with colleagues and support patients.
• Participate in cohort experiences that promote peer and professional socialization and strengthen your commitment to nursing.
• Complete didactic content tailored to new graduates from professional nursing organizations.

The staff nurse provides nursing care to patients from birth through the lifecycle, utilizing nursing processes to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care. They coordinate patient care activities of all assigned staff to deliver quality nursing care and uphold standards of practice.

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Georgia.
• BLS certification required.
• New graduates are eligible.
• Preferred:
  Bachelor’s degree in nursing.
• Preferred:
  Advanced specialty certification, if applicable.
