Exciting opportunity available for a Registered Nurse with strong Med-Surg and Telemetry experience at a large, high-acuity hospital known for its advanced cardiac and trauma services. This hospital features over 600 licensed beds, Level 1 Trauma designation, a teaching environment, and comprehensive specialty centers. This role centers on a busy 30-bed Med Surg/Tele unit, providing critical care to both pre/post-cardiac and step-down ICU patients.
Schedule:
- 12-hour shifts: 7:00 AM 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM 7:00 AM
- Schedule cycle: 6 weeks
- Weekend rotation: 5-6 shifts per 12
- Holiday expectation:
One shift during each major holiday cycle
Qualifications &
Experience:
- Valid RN license
- Minimum 2 years of recent Med-Surg/Tele experience
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Basic Cardiac Rhythm (BCR) required; must pass EKG Rhythm exam during onboarding
- ACLS and national med-surg certification preferred but not required
- Open to first-time travelers
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage cardiac, respiratory, and complex internal medicine patients (CHF, COPD, STEMI/NSTEMI, sepsis, etc.)
- Maintain patient ratios of 1:4-6, supported by CNAs and team resources
- Proficient in IV insertion/care, central line management, trach care, chest tube management, wound care, and telemetry interpretation
- Administer and monitor specialized infusions (glucommander, insulin, heparin, select cardiac drips)
- Coordinate care with interdisciplinary teams and participate in patient education and discharge planning, with an emphasis on renal and fluid management
- Complete routine documentation in EPIC and utilize hospital equipment (Alaris pumps, Philips monitors, Pyxis med dispensing)
Additional Details:
- 1 day general + 2 days departmental orientation provided
- Floating may be required between all Med Surg telemetry units

$1,579 - $1,728/Week Estimated weekly earnings represent hourly wages, based on 36 hours per week, and expense reimbursement for eligible candidates. The actual amount may vary based on hours worked, eligibility for reimbursements, and seasonal adjustments.
