Samba Behavioral Health at Jonesboro is a growing behavioral health and substance use treatment organization dedicated to providing compassionate, evidence-based care to adults navigating substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions.

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our interdisciplinary clinical team. This is an excellent opportunity for a provider who values collaborative medicine, individualized patient care, and the opportunity to help shape a growing treatment program.

Working closely with our Executive Director, Director of Nursing, therapists, case managers, and clinical staff
, the Nurse Practitioner will provide psychiatric assessment, medication management, and ongoing clinical support to patients receiving inpatient detoxification and recovery services.

What You’ll Do
  • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, admission assessments, and ongoing clinical assessments.
  • Diagnose and manage mental health conditions, substance use disorders, and co-occurring diagnoses.
  • Prescribe, monitor, and adjust psychotropic and other clinically appropriate medications within scope of practice.
  • Evaluate patient response to medications and address potential side effects, interactions, and contraindications.
  • Order, review, and interpret laboratory testing and other diagnostic information as clinically indicated.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary treatment team to develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans.
  • Provide patients and families with medication education, health education, and recovery-focused clinical guidance.
  • Identify changes in patient condition and initiate appropriate interventions, referrals, or escalation of care.
  • Maintain complete, accurate, and timely clinical documentation within Kipu EMR
    .
  • Participate in treatment-team meetings, case consultations, staff meetings, quality initiatives, and required compliance training.
  • Support clinical quality, patient safety, and continuity of care throughout the detoxification and recovery process.
  • Maintain compliance with HIPAA, professional standards of practice, organizational policies, and applicable state and federal regulatory requirements.
What We’re Looking For
  • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or higher from an accredited program.
  • Current Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) certification.
  • Active and unrestricted authorization to practice as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in the State of Georgia.
  • Current DEA registration and appropriate prescribing authority.
  • Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience preferred, particularly within behavioral health, psychiatry, addiction medicine, detoxification, or substance use treatment.
  • Experience working with patients with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders strongly preferred.
  • Experience with Kipu or another behavioral health EMR is a plus.
  • Strong assessment, medication-management, clinical documentation, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary treatment team.
  • Commitment to trauma-informed, culturally responsive, evidence-based, and patient-centered care.
  • Experience working within a startup, expanding, or rapidly growing behavioral health program is highly valued.
Schedule

This is a full-time position supporting a 24/7 inpatient treatment environment. Scheduling flexibility is important, and weekend coverage may occasionally be required based on patient-care and operational needs.
