Med-Surg Registered Nurse; RN) in Macon, GA

Step into a vital nursing role within a dynamic, high-acuity Med Surg/Telemetry environment at a respected Level 1 Trauma Center and teaching hospital. This position supports a busy 30-bed unit caring for cardiac, post-op, and step-down ICU patients with diagnoses such as CHF, COPD, STEMI, NSTEMI, and sepsis. Collaborate within a strong interdisciplinary team and leverage advanced technology, including EPIC EMR, Alaris IV pumps, and Phillip monitors.

• 12-hour shifts: 7A7P or 7P7A
• 5-6 weekend shifts out of every 12 (in a 6-week schedule)
• Holiday coverage: one major holiday per cycle
• No on-call requirement

• Active RN license and BLS (Basic Life Support) required
• Basic Cardiac Rhythm (EKG rhythm exam as part of onboarding) required
• 2 years of recent Med Surg/Tele RN experience
• ACLS and Med-Surg certification preferred but not mandatory
• Will consider first-time travelers

• Strong med-surg nursing and clinical assessment abilities for a Level 1 Trauma setting
• Trach care, chest tube management, wound care, post-op monitoring
• Proficient with IV insertion/care, central line management, glucommander, and cardiac monitoring
• Experience administering insulin/heparin drips, titrating heart rate
• Care coordination, discharge planning, and patient education (particularly renal/fluid management)
• Telemetry interpretation and interdisciplinary communication

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to complex cardiac and step-down patients
• Collaborate closely with CNAs, unit secretaries, and a robust support team
• Float as needed across Med Surg/Tele units
• Participate in departmental and facility-specific orientations

$1,474 - $1,613/Week Estimated weekly earnings represent hourly wages, based on 36 hours per week, and expense reimbursement for eligible candidates. The actual amount may vary based on hours worked, eligibility for reimbursements, and seasonal adjustments.
