Qualified Staffing is seeking a dynamic and detail‑oriented Quality Manager to lead our client’s quality assurance and control initiatives across manufacturing operations. The Quality Assurance Manager is a full‑time, on‑site role located in Macon, GA, responsible for overseeing all quality‑related activities within the precision machining and metal fabrication environment.
Responsibilities- The Quality Assurance Manager will lead and train quality staff, coordinate inspections and audits, review and approve documentation, and analyze quality data to identify trends and drive corrective and preventive actions.
- Day‑to‑day tasks involve collaborating with production, engineering, and management teams to resolve quality issues, managing nonconformance reports, and working directly with customers and suppliers on quality‑related matters.
- The role also includes continuous improvement initiatives to enhance processes, reduce defects, and support the company’s focus on quality and customer satisfaction.
- Strong background in quality assurance, including experience with inspection methods, process control, and root cause analysis in a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of precision machining and metal fabrication processes, tolerances, and material specifications.
- Experience with quality management systems, ISO or similar standards, and internal/external audits.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical documentation.
- Proficiency with measurement tools and equipment (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges, CMMs) and related documentation.
- Demonstrated skills in data analysis, reporting, and using quality metrics to drive continuous improvement.
- Effective leadership abilities, including training, mentoring, and coordinating activities of quality team members.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with production staff, management, customers, and suppliers.
- Organizational and problem‑solving skills, with attention to detail and the ability to prioritize multiple projects.
- Relevant education such as an associate or bachelor’s degree in engineering, quality, manufacturing, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Prior experience in small business or job‑shop manufacturing settings is beneficial.
- Familiarity with government contracts.
