Position Summary
Rutgers University‑Camden, School of Arts and Sciences, Department of Biology invites applications for a Non‑Tenure Track (NTT) Research Associate position. This is a research‑track faculty position for one year, contingent on continued funding. The successful candidate will lead a research program on mitochondrial dysfunction in neurodegeneration and aging, using cellular and animal models. The candidate will also manage the laboratory, ensuring efficient operations and mentoring junior researchers and students.
Research‑track faculty are expected to contribute immediately and may be asked to submit extramural funding proposals in their area of expertise.
- Design and execute research projects focused on mitochondrial dysfunction in neurodegeneration and aging.
- Employ cellular and animal models to elucidate disease mechanisms.
- Oversee laboratory operations, ensuring safety and compliance with institutional policies.
- Mentor and train graduate students, postdocs, and undergraduate researchers.
- Contribute to grant writing as a principal investigator or co‑investigator.
- Minimum:
Ph.D. in cell biology, biochemistry, neuroscience, pharmacology or related fields. - Experience in mitochondria and/or neuroscience and/or aging and/or protein biology; knowledge of cell biology, biochemistry, and microscopy techniques.
- Preferred:
Experience with extramural funding proposals.
The minimum salary for this position is $85,588. The final offer may reflect qualifications, experience, internal equity, and available funds.
