Job Summary

The Store Manager is responsible for supporting merchandising, operational, and human resources functions for an individual store to achieve or exceed sales and profit goals. This role requires a proactive, vigilant individual who remains highly engaged with customers, demonstrates integrity, possesses effective communication skills, and works well in a dynamic retail environment. The Store Manager also plays a key role in fostering a positive work culture, encouraging employee involvement, and supporting change management initiatives within the organization.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, interview, hire, counsel, and manage termination processes, ensuring legal compliance and adherence to internal policies.
• Maintain financial controls, including managing shrinkage, payroll, and other operational expenses.
• Oversee inventory controls, facilitate transactions, and ensure compliance standards for shrink management.
• Monitor sales activities to ensure excellent customer service.
• Supervise staff engaged in sales, inventory management, cash reconciliation, and customer service.
• Ensure staff compliance with Citi Trends policies and procedures.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Skills and Abilities

• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Flexibility to work nights and weekends.
• Proficiency in mathematical calculations, including percentages.

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3-5 years of retail management experience.
• Additional 5-7 years of retail experience preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to work 45 hours per week, performing physical tasks such as standing, walking, bending, reaching, lifting, and pushing/pulling, with or without accommodations.
