As a Canine Behavior Specialist at Pet Smart, your main responsibility will be to engage with pet parents and their pets, ensuring positive experiences while upholding our company's values. You will actively promote the benefits of our pet training services and execute our training curriculum effectively.

• Enhancing the pet parent experience through various communication channels including phone, in-store, and online.
• Actively promoting and selling training classes.
• Educating pet parents on the advantages of our comprehensive training programs.
• Maintaining records related to pet training activities.
• Serving as a training expert, supporting fellow associates and sharing knowledge.
• Scheduling training classes per company standards.
• Creating a safe environment for both pets and clients during classes.
• Keeping the training and surrounding areas clean and welcoming.
• Recognizing team contributions to pet training sales.
• Responding promptly to any cases of sick or injured pets.
• Recommending pet merchandise and services.
• Assisting other departments as required and promoting a culture of belonging.
• Adhering to all company policies and procedures.

• 1-2 years of experience in a retail, customer-centered setting.
• Completion of Pet Smart's Training Instructor Course.
• Proficiency in computer systems.
• Ability to maintain composure under pressure.
• Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

This role involves standing, walking, climbing, and using hands for various tasks. You may need to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and team lift heavier items. Environmental conditions may include exposure to pet hair and moderate to high noise levels.
