Overview

CGL is a provider of justice facility planning, design, program management, and maintenance solutions to justice facilities and other public facilities throughout the U.S. and internationally. CGL Facility Management, LLC provides comprehensive contract facility maintenance services to commercial clients. The Senior HVAC Technician (LICENSED) will be responsible for preventive and corrective HVAC maintenance work and minimal installations with our client.

Responsibilities
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance services to existing HVAC equipment according to work orders generated from a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS). Complete all documentation of work performed in compliance with the CMMS data collection process.
  • Install, repair, and maintain machinery and mechanical equipment such as motors, engines, pumps, belts, fans, air handling units, VAV and fan-powered boxes.
  • Maintain safe operation of systems including electronic/pneumatic environmental controls, oil/gas-fired water tube boilers, and auxiliary equipment such as various types of pumps, de‑aerating tanks, air compressor blowers, etc.
  • Examine environmental controls and stationary systems to diagnose problems using proper inspection, testing, and monitoring techniques while exhibiting safe and proper use of tools.
  • Perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures and the standards of CGL Facility Maintenance, OSHA, and our clients.
  • Inspect completed work for self and other technicians for conformance with local building and safety codes.
  • Escort subcontractors during completion of their work at the site.
  • Serve as a mentor, trainer, and inspector for other HVAC and General Trades technicians.
  • Travel to other facilities to help resolve specific maintenance issues.
  • Maintain a clean and safe workplace while and after performing maintenance tasks.
  • Complete all required compliance, safety, and developmental training as assigned.
  • Provide basic training or mentorship to technicians in other skillsets.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED (Required)
  • 4‑6 years of commercial HVAC and building maintenance experience (Required)
  • Refrigeration experience (Preferred)
  • Previous experience managing others (Preferred)
  • Knowledge of electrical, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, and general building maintenance (Required)
  • Ability to read blueprints and as-built drawings (Required)
  • Willingness and ability to work occasional on‑call shifts (Required)
  • Must be able to pass a pre‑employment drug test and criminal background check (Required)
  • Microsoft Office skills (Required)
  • Self‑motivated team player able to multitask, prioritize, and communicate effectively with clients (Required)
  • Quickly become familiar with the design and layout of facilities, learn locations of environmental controls and monitoring systems, and understand operating procedures (Required)
  • Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Certification (Required)
  • HVAC Certification (Preferred)
  • State‑issued HVAC license (Required)
