Overview
Dobbs Equipment is seeking an experienced Preventative Maintenance Service Technician to perform high‑quality lubrication and periodic maintenance on heavy equipment. The role requires a strong customer service focus, adherence to safety policies, and the ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
Responsibilities- Perform preventive maintenance, including lubrication, fluid replacement, and filter changes on heavy equipment.
- Conduct thorough machine inspections and identify potential issues.
- Use troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve equipment problems.
- Prepare accurate service reports and documentation.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area.
- Communicate regularly with the Service Manager regarding equipment status and needs.
- Participate in ongoing training and service initiatives.
- Represent the dealership professionally at all times.
- Valid Class B CDL driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Associate degree from a two‑year college or technical school, or equivalent experience.
- Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems in industrial equipment.
- Ability to perform routine maintenance and basic repairs using specified tools and manuals.
- Good communication skills and strong problem‑solving abilities.
- Excellent time management and self‑management skills.
- Ability to lift and carry between 50–75 lbs, work in varied temperature and noise conditions, and use personal protective equipment.
- Flexible schedule; willingness to work overtime and travel when required.
- Use full range of motion for arms, hands, arms, and legs; climb and descend equipment up to 4 feet.
- Lift or carry up to 75 lbs frequently.
- Operate hand tools and hydraulic systems on equipment.
- Wear respirators, welding shields, hard hats, vests, safety glasses, gloves, and other protective gear as required.
Work is performed in a service shop with exposure to changing temperatures, wet or humid conditions, noise, vibration, fumes, odors, dust, and close proximity to moving mechanical parts.
