Position Overview
THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This position is for an Aircraft Mechanic, Position Description Number D0484000 located in the Army Aviation Support Facility (AASF #2), at the Clay National Guard Center, Marietta, GA. This is a full-time, Excepted Permanent, dual status position which requires Georgia Army National Guard Membership. Area of Consideration:
Current on-board Technicians in the Georgia Army National Guard.

Experience:
Experience or training that has provided the candidate with the skill to remove and replace aircraft parts, accessories, and components, and to make adjustments and settings according to established specifications. Must be skilled in the use of hand tools and test equipment. - Specialized
Experience:
Candidate must have at least 18 months specialized experience installing, adjusting, aligning, troubleshooting and functionally testing the various major and minor mechanical and pneudraulic systems on an aircraft during overhaul or modification. Experience coordinating the work of other mechanics, and scheduling maintenance to ensure completion of critical actions and optimum workflow. Must have the ability to instruct lower graded mechanics, military and other personnel in the disassembly and re-assembly of crash damaged engines, transmissions, gearboxes, hydraulic components, and fuel controls sufficient for the exhibit to be returned to its shipping container.
Conditions
Works inside and outside, in inclement weather, on icy, wet, and slippery ramps and work-stands it temperature and humidity extremes. Work areas may be drafty, noisy and have toxic fumes present. Irritants such as aircraft fluids, dirt, grease, dust, paint, and solvents may be present. Exposure to cuts, burns, shock, strains, and broken bones exists.
Physical EffortRequired to climb, stand, stoop, bend, stretch, and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Frequently lifts parts and equipment weighing up to 20 pounds. Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing 50 pounds and over.
