Maintenance Mechanic Job Description
The Maintenance Mechanic plays a key role in maintaining equipment reliability and supporting plant operations. This experienced-level technician installs, troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains production and facility equipment while following all safety, preventive maintenance, and quality standards. The role works with minimal supervision and provides basic training to less experienced team members.
Responsibilities- Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production and facility equipment.
- Perform advanced troubleshooting, modify and replace components, inspect machinery, and calculate gearbox ratios.
- Maintain and troubleshoot complex pneumatic, hydraulic, and steam systems.
- Support utilities such as boilers, compressors, HVAC, and dust collectors, and identify energy-loss issues.
- Use standard tools of the trade including hand tools, power tools, and machine shop tools.
- Provide basic training to less experienced team members.
- Knowledge of pump motors, valves, and gearboxes.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to use standard trade tools.
- Familiarity with electrical and electro-mechanical principles.
- Experience with electrical tools including electrical test meters and oscilloscopes.
- Proficient in troubleshooting PLCs and electrical systems.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings.
Skills & Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 3+ years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with welding, fabrication, plumbing repairs, and basic carpentry.
- Ability to assemble and install equipment and manage facility maintenance projects.
- Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Savannah, GA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $26.50 - $30.00/hr.
