We are seeking Detainee Support Officers (DSO) to join our mission‑driven team supporting humanitarian immigration operations within DHS detention facilities. This role involves providing direct support to detainees, ensuring program requirements are met with professionalism, cultural sensitivity, and operational compliance.

The ideal candidate will bring prior law enforcement or detention center experience, possess strong interpersonal skills, and be capable of navigating sensitive environments with discretion. DSOs play an essential role in ensuring dignity, accuracy, and integrity throughout the repatriation and enrollment process.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Conduct on‑site support at detention centers, working directly with detainees.
  • Clearly explain eligibility, program requirements, and repatriation procedures.
  • Ensure accurate completion of forms, documentation, and case records.
  • Collaborate closely with facility staff and management to maintain a professional and secure environment.
  • Provide clear and culturally sensitive communication between detainees and staff.
  • Prepare reports and maintain accurate, confidential records of activities.
  • Address detainee concerns promptly and professionally in accordance with program guidelines.
  • Remain current on relevant government program requirements, directives, and policies.
  • Support operational objectives and adapt quickly to evolving program needs.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Prior experience as an ICE agent or law enforcement officer is mandatory.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict‑resolution skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate sensitive environments with discretion and professionalism.
  • Knowledge and understanding of federal and state government program requirements.
  • Proficiency with electronic record‑keeping systems and data management tools.
  • Ability to travel regularly and work independently.
  • Strong understanding of U.S. immigration procedures and voluntary return processes.
  • High level of comfort with web‑based data platforms and mobile digital systems.
  • Proven interpersonal communication and cultural competency skills.
  • Detail‑oriented with strong organizational and time‑management abilities.
  • Prior experience in a detention, field office, or consular setting preferred.
  • Fluency in English required; proficiency in Spanish, French, Arabic, or other common migrant languages is highly valued.
