Job Overview

As an IT Specialist (Applications Software) with the US Office of Personnel Management,
Products and Data Engineering Divisions
, you will serve as a senior software engineer responsible for designing, developing, integrating, modernizing, and sustaining enterprise application systems and services that support OPM mission requirements.

Basic Requirements

You must have Information Technology (IT) related experience demonstrating each of the following competencies:

Customer Service - Works with clients and customers to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services;

Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.

Qualifications

Applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS‑13 level in the Federal service performing application software development and modernization that included all of the following:

Developing, testing, implementing, or maintaining application software using programming languages, frameworks, or software engineering tools;
Supporting application modernization, system design, or software development efforts by recommending technical approaches or design solutions;
Integrating application software with platforms, services, databases, data sources, or other systems;
Troubleshooting and resolving application development, integration, performance, security, or operational issues; and
Communicating technical requirements, risks, recommendations, or implementation options to stakeholders, customers, or technical teams.
