- Drive community vehicles to transport residents, visitors and employees to appointments and other activities.
- Assist Environmental and Transportation Services Manager with billing, financial reports, filing, data processing, tracking and other administrative duties.
- Maintain knowledge of current Department of Transportation laws to ensure safety.
- Attend refresher training for CDL licensed drivers.
- Operate GPS devices and follow maps to destinations.
- Transport residents, visitors and staff safely and assist with assistive devices.
- Report mechanical malfunctions to appropriate personnel.
- Update and record information in vehicle logbooks.
- Perform safety inspections before and after trips and record results on inspection checklist.
- Display flexibility toward shift work and notify necessary personnel for unscheduled absence or late arrival.
- Maintain current CDL licensure and keep DOT medical certificates current.
Valid Class C-Commercial Driver’s License with passenger endorsement in the state of Georgia and a valid DOT Medical Examiner’s certificate. Must remain eligible for Carlyle Place insurance coverage. First Aid and CPR certification to be obtained within 60 days of hire.
Education RequiredHigh School Diploma or GED required.
Experience RequiredAt least two (2) years driving experience operating a Commercial Vehicle.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities RequiredObeys all safety and traffic laws and Department of Transportation regulations; basic understanding and operation of vehicle mechanical components; remains calm under emergency situations and while handling multiple tasks; good judgment within legal laws and Carlyle Place policies; minimal office equipment skills to complete daily transportation department tasks.
Physical Requirements and Working ConditionsVisual and verbal communication abilities; competent using good body mechanics for transfers and transport; functional range of motion; grip strength 60-80 pounds; ability to lift 25-60 lbs.; tolerate high noise, busy atmospheres, and noxious odors; self-directed and can prioritize tasks; pass cardiac recovery test if class is POPE
