Madeira High School is seeking a High School Media Communications Teacher with an emphasis on video/digital production and visual media
. This position will play a central role in supporting district communication efforts through student-produced video and graphic content, including advertising, marketing pieces, and social media materials.
Responsibilities include:
- Teaching media communications courses with a focus on graphic design, video production, editing, and digital content creation.
- Guiding students in producing high-quality promotional and informational materials for school and district use.
- Creating and maintaining business partnerships and contracts related to advertising and marketing opportunities.
- Supporting student learning in areas such as marketing, branding, social media strategy, and visual communication.
- Collaborating with staff, administrators, and student groups on media-driven projects.
- Maintaining equipment, organizing production schedules, and managing a creative studio.
- Demonstrating strong classroom management, instructional design, and student engagement skills.
- Developing lessons and content utilizing DAK Classroom curriculum and software
Qualifications:
- A valid and current Ohio Teaching License in one of the listed preferred areas below or other qualifying licensure accepted by the Ohio Department of Education.
- Secondary English w/ Journalism or Advertising Focus/Speciality
- Visual/ Communications Arts
- Graphic/Media Design
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple creative projects.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and professionally with students, staff, and the community.
- Positive references supporting effective teaching practices, professionalism, and rapport with students.
- Demonstrated passion for media production, digital communication, and authentic student learning experiences.
- Strong organizational, communication, and student engagement skills
- Willingness to collaborate with staff and students to support school-wide initiatives and media needs.
Preferred Skills (not required but beneficial):
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, Final Cut Pro, Canva, or similar editing/production platforms.
- Experience supervising student media teams or extracurricular digital production activities.
