Schedule:
Part-time, day shift role. This role is expected to be scheduled for 20-working hours weekly and includes a rotating Saturday schedule. This role does not include any holiday or on-call scheduling.

This position adheres to all of the regular responsibilities and duties of a front office specialist and medical assistant. This position is cross trained to perform duties in both front and back office to enhance efficiency and continuity of delivery of patient care; work cooperatively within the team concept demonstrating flexibility, motivation and commitment to quality patient care.

- 1-2 years experience in a related field
- Accurately documents all care rendered to a patient and all actions taken on behalf of a patient in the patient’s medical record.
- Supports quality improvement processes and verbalizes the QI process and its application per quarter per disease.
- Analyzes fast claim report daily, makes corrections and proactively coordinates information to the billing company.
- Schedules patient for next visit at time of checkout, while maintaining front office professional appearance.
- Follows JCAHO and HIPAA protocols.
- Triages patient calls and ensures proper disposition to meet patient needs; notifies physician with emergency complaints and demonstrates competency in clinical care protocols including 911 and HIPAA.
- Access to patient information is limited to what is necessary to perform the job.
- Demonstrates proficiency in front office procedures, collects co-pays, answers phones before voicemail, records payments and provides receipts, registers patient demographics, validates demographics per visit, notifies patient of balance, and offers payment plan options. Copies insurance cards.
- Assists with medical procedures on adults and children; maintains annual competencies; records vital signs, weight, height, head circumference if applicable; maintains patient privacy and dignity in procedures and in the use of the medical record.
