Responsibilities- Perform general ledger accounting functions, including preparing and posting journal entries, accruals, and adjustments.
- Complete monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Prepare and maintain balance sheet and income statement account reconciliations.
- Support financial statement preparation and assist with internal and external reporting needs.
- Analyze financial data and variances, providing explanations and insights to accounting leadership.
- Assist with job cost accounting activities, including project cost tracking, reconciliations, and margin analysis.
- Support internal controls, identify discrepancies, and assist with risk mitigation and process improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with operations, project managers, and other departments to ensure accurate financial data.
- Assist with audit requests, documentation, and ad hoc financial analyses as needed.
- Contribute to a collaborative team environment by supporting cross-training and continuous improvement efforts.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent hands-on accounting experience.
- Years of experience in a professional accounting or finance role.
- Years of general ledger accounting experience, including reconciliations and month-end close.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting standards.
- Experience using accounting and ERP systems, preferably within a construction or project-based environment.
- Familiarity with job-cost accounting software such as Sage 300 CRE or similar systems.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and working knowledge of Microsoft Office / Microsoft 365 tools.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Ability to work onsite Monday – Friday
