Position Summary
Madera County Workforce is seeking a Principal Accounting Technician to support fiscal operations through complex accounting, recordkeeping, budget monitoring, financial reporting, and fund accounting activities. This position works under the direction of the Controller and plays a key role in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting organizational fiscal compliance.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain and reconcile financial and statistical records
- Monitor budgets, expenditures, and revenues
- Prepare financial reports and balance sheets
- Process accounts, invoices, payments, and deposits
- Assist with budget development and cost accounting systems
- Research and resolve accounting discrepancies
- Five years of accounting experience involving complex accounting and recordkeeping systems; OR
- Associate's degree in Accounting or Business and two years of related accounting experience
- Valid California driver's license required
- Salary Range: $42,120 - $50,544 annually
