Safety Coordinator - 2nd Shift

Position Summary

We are seeking a dependable and organized Safety Coordinator to support workplace safety initiatives at a food manufacturing and processing facility in Madera.

This position reports to Human Resources and will primarily focus on employee safety training, workplace inspections, incident investigations, safety documentation, PPE compliance, hazard identification, and supporting the continued development of the company's safety program.

The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, comfortable working in a production environment, and able to communicate effectively with employees, supervisors, and management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct employee safety training and support ongoing safety education
  • Perform routine workplace safety inspections and audits
  • Assist with incident and near-miss investigations, documentation, and follow-up
  • Identify workplace hazards and assist with corrective actions
  • Monitor and reinforce PPE and workplace safety requirements
  • Maintain Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and other required safety documentation
  • Maintain accurate safety records, reports, and training documentation
  • Assist with safety drills and other workplace safety initiatives
  • Communicate safety expectations and concerns with employees and supervisors
  • Support the continued development and organization of workplace safety programs
  • Assist with general HR/office administrative duties when safety responsibilities allow
  • Perform other related duties and projects as assigned

Qualifications

  • Previous workplace safety, Safety Coordinator, or related experience preferred
  • Experience in food manufacturing, manufacturing, production, warehouse, agricultural processing, or another industrial environment strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with workplace safety practices, PPE requirements, SDS, hazard identification, and incident investigations
  • Experience conducting employee safety training is preferred
  • Familiarity with OSHA safety requirements and regulations is a plus
  • GMP or food safety experience is a plus
  • Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow through on safety concerns
  • Basic computer skills and ability to maintain accurate records
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with employees, supervisors, HR, and management
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus

Schedule Requirements

The regular schedule for this position will be 3:00 PM-11:30 PM after completion of training
.

Candidates must have flexible availability to occasionally work outside of their regular shift to conduct safety training, audits, drills, and other safety activities across shifts.
