Position

Summary

Registered Nurse is responsible for safe and appropriate patient care, for providing instruction, direction and supervision to subordinate unit staff, serving as resource for all departments.

Responsibilities

Work requires thorough and advanced knowledge of the nursing process, patient assessment and nursing standards, knowledge of the California Nursing Practice Act, hospital policies and procedures, intermediate pharmaceutical and math skills and knowledge of management and assignment personnel. Must possess good verbal and written English communication skills;
Peripheral IV experience and skills required;
Good time management and prioritizing skills. Computer experience preferred. Analyzes data, determines time, place and sequence of healthcare actions, executes determination and/or reporting on events. Teaches, instructs patients and families on healthcare subjects, provides explanation. Demonstrates and supervises practice, may make recommendations to physicians or other nursing staff based on nursing care principles to assure optimum patient care. Uses physical strength to move patients or equipment.

Selects appropriate health supplies and medical equipment to assure appropriate medical care. Speaks to fellow employees, patients, physicians, and families in person and on phone.

Qualifications
  • Current State of California Board of Registered Nursing license
  • American Heart Association BCLS certification
  • American Heart Association ACLS certification
  • American Heart Association PALS (or ENPC) certification
  • Prefer TNCC certification
  • NIHSS Certification
  • Basic Arrhythmia Certificate
