We're seeking an experienced Quality & Performance Improvement Coordinator, RN to partner with Heart Center leadership, physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams to improve outcomes for one of our most complex patient populations.

The Quality & Performance Improvement Coordinator is a key member of the Heart Center leadership team, supporting the development, implementation, and evaluation of quality, patient safety, and performance improvement initiatives across the pediatric cardiac program.

Working collaboratively with physicians, nursing leaders, and operational partners, this role transforms clinical and operational data into meaningful insights that drive measurable improvements in patient outcomes, regulatory readiness, and operational excellence.

This position leads and supports quality initiatives, facilitates peer review activities, monitors quality and patient safety metrics, identifies opportunities for improvement, and helps ensure the Heart Center continues to deliver exceptional, evidence-based care for children with complex cardiac conditions.

• Lead and support quality and performance improvement initiatives within the Heart Center.
• Analyze clinical, operational, and quality data to identify trends, measure outcomes, and drive improvement strategies.
• Partner with physicians, nursing leadership, and multidisciplinary teams to improve patient safety, quality, and clinical outcomes.
• Coordinate and support medical staff, nursing, and interdisciplinary peer review processes.
• Investigate quality and patient safety concerns while collaborating on corrective action plans and sustainable process improvements.
• Monitor key quality indicators, regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, and performance benchmarks.
• Provide consultation and education on quality improvement methodologies, patient safety principles, and performance improvement tools.
• Support initiatives that enhance the patient and family experience while promoting evidence-based practice.
• Develop reports, presentations, and dashboards that translate complex data into actionable information for leaders and frontline teams.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and collaboration throughout the Heart Center.

• Current California Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Associate degree in Nursing or related field required;
  Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Minimum five (5) years of related healthcare experience.
• Minimum four (4) years of progressively responsible clinical or quality experience.
• Minimum four (4) years of experience with healthcare regulations, including The Joint Commission (TJC), California Title 22, and other applicable regulatory standards.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Advanced computer proficiency with experience analyzing and presenting healthcare data.

• Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ).
• Certified Professional in Patient Safety (CPPS).
• Experience in pediatric healthcare, cardiac services, quality improvement, patient safety, or performance improvement.
• Knowledge of clinical registries, benchmarking, and quality reporting.

• This position is currently on-site. A hybrid work arrangement may be considered in the future based on business needs and organizational priorities; however, no timeline has been established.

$57.29–$81.72 per hour

Final compensation is based on experience, education, certifications, and internal equity.
