Position
Multi-Purpose Clerk - Deli – 1504 Howard Rd., Madera, CA 93637

Role
The Multi-Purpose Clerk is an integral part of a motivated team focused on serving guests and delivering the total store guest experience to consistently meet or exceed guest expectations. The Clerk may be assigned to one of several departments within the store, including Center Store Market, Fresh Market Departments, or Guest Services. The Clerk promotes sales, answers guest questions, handles special orders, practices safe food handling, maintains a clean work area, and logs and rotates product to maintain freshness and department appeal.

• The Multi-Purpose Clerk may be assigned to any of the following departments:
  Center Store/Front End, Produce, Meat/Seafood, Bakery/Deli, Janitorial, Valley Fresh, or Restaurant.
• Center Store/Front End – Operate the check stand per policy, memorize PLU codes, stock and rotate product, and perform POS and inventory activities.
• Produce – Inspect and log products, trim/wash/wrap produce, stock and rotate, maintain floral area, and keep areas and equipment clean.
• Meat/Seafood – Inspect and log products, weigh/wrap/label for display, stock/rotate, provide guest service at the seafood counter, take special orders, may operate slicers and wrappers, and keep areas clean.
• Bakery/Deli – Inspect and log products, prepare/weight/package/label, stock/rotate, take special orders, may operate ovens/proofers/slicers/mixers, keep areas clean.
• Janitorial – Maintain cleanliness and sanitation storewide, including restrooms, break rooms, and front-end areas; may operate janitorial equipment.
• Valley Fresh – Inspect and log products, cut/trim/wash/juice/beverage infusion, package produce, stock/rotate, keep areas clean.
• Restaurant – Operate the register, take guest orders, serve completed orders, maintain restaurant cleanliness and sanitation.

All Department Assignment Duties

• Sweep and mop floors in all areas.
• May operate forklift if authorized and certified.
• May operate baler if authorized.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Pay Hiring pay range: $17.15 – $26.20

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Excellent guest service and communication skills (verbal and written).
• Ability to work with urgency and self-motivation.
• Proactive, initiative, enthusiastic, and flexible on the job.

Education
:
High School Diploma (or G.E.D.) or additional job experience.

Experience
:
Six months of grocery retail-related experience.

Other
:
Availability to work a variety of required retail hours; must be at least 18 years of age.

Physical
:
Requires standing and other physical movements frequently; lifting up to 40 lbs. without assistance.
