Sales and Operations Lead

Compensation:

Base hourly pay for this position is $22.36
. At our Madera location, team members average approximately$5.70 per hour in tips. Tips are not guaranteed and may vary based on shift, business levels, and seasonality.

Embarc seeks an experienced, self‑motivated, and organized leader to serve as a full‑time Sales and Operations Lead at our cannabis dispensary. Embarc is an emerging cannabis retailer passionate about our community, customers, and people

What is the Job?

The Sales and Operations Lead supports all customer experience and sales initiatives while also supporting store operations, leading the team, and assisting with inventory operations. This role requires a strong focus on customer experience, sales performance, community engagement, leadership, organization, and strict compliance with company policies and state regulations.

Core Responsibilities Customer Experience
  • Lead the front‑of‑house team to create an exceptional experience for customers and employees while exceeding sales goals.
  • Engage with customers on the sales floor by answering questions and recommending products.
  • Champion brand education and product knowledge training.
  • Drive selling behaviors to achieve sales metrics and employee performance goals.
  • Build customer retention through company loyalty programs.
  • Communicate and execute sales and marketing initiatives.
  • Execute visual merchandising to uphold company standards.
  • Participate in community engagement, field marketing, social media, and events.
  • Partner with management to monitor and respond to customer reviews across platforms.
Store Operations
  • Supervise daily store operations to ensure efficiency and compliance.
  • Oversee opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and merchandising.
  • Support the implementation of company policies, legal regulations, and operational improvements.
  • Address facilities issues to maintain an excellent customer experience.
  • Safely lift and carry up to 35 lbs
    .
Leadership
  • Train and coach team members while fostering a culture of learning, development, and accountability.
  • Serve as a key point of contact between store management and staff.
  • Help build a culture aligned with the organization’s core values.
  • Utilize problem‑solving skills to recommend improvements and elevate issues when needed.
  • Champion change and operational improvements.
Inventory
  • Assist with inventory management including intake, counts, pricing, transfers, recalls, stocking, and compliance.
  • Help maintain accurate counts and records in METRC and POS systems.
  • Support recurring audits, spot checks, and cycle counts.
  • Ensure compliance with state and local cannabis regulations.
Skills We're Looking For
  • Strong leadership and communication skills with staff and vendors.
  • Deep understanding of customer experience and driving sales.
  • Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and able to prioritize multiple responsibilities.
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team in a fast‑paced retail environment.
  • Proficiency in retail systems, compliance software, and reporting tools.
Preferred Experience
  • Proven track record of using training and resources to drive customer experience and sales.
  • Experience with Treez POS system.
  • Leadership or supervisory experience in retail.
  • Experience with computerized inventory and compliance systems.
Schedule Expectations

This is a full‑time, non‑exempt retail position in a store open 365 days a year
.

Evening, weekend, and holiday shifts are required based on business needs.
