Plumber II (Correctional Facility)
Job SummaryPermanent, full‑time position located at Valley State Prison, Chowchilla, Madera County, California. Salary range: $6,291.00 – $7,547.00 per month.
Work schedule:
Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM. Alternate work schedule may be available. Telework:
In office only.
Perform plumbing work in the correctional facility in accordance with state safety orders, building codes, and security protocols. Refer to the duty statement for detailed duties.
Minimum Qualifications- Must hold a PLUMBER II (Correctional Facility) examination and be a current state employee with lateral transfer or reinstatement eligibility.
- Knowledge of principles, methods, materials, tools and equipment used in plumbing.
- Knowledge of Safety Orders of the Division of Industrial Safety applicable to plumbing.
- Knowledge of building codes.
- Positive attendance and punctuality.
- Good judgment and ability to interpret plans, blueprints and specifications.
- Ability to perform plumbing work, care for tools, prepare rough sketches, estimate costs, and prepare accurate records.
- Ability to instruct, direct, and coordinate the work of a small crew.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
- Read and write English at a level required for successful job performance.
