Position: Summer Camp Coordinator – Classification 130 (Four positions)

Work Schedule:

  • June 7, 2026 – August 18, 2026
  • Monday‑Friday 7:15 – 1:00 (SAC)
  • Monday‑Friday 11:30 – 5:15 (SAC)
  • Monday‑Friday 8:00 – 4:30 (Preschool)
  • Monday‑Friday 7:30 – 4:00 (Toddler)

Salary: At the appropriate step on the paraprofessional coordinator pay scale

Reports to: Learning Ladder Director and/or Principal

Qualifications
  • Minimum Qualifications:

    Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field required or
  • Minimum of Preschool/Toddler CDA, required
  • Have completed or working toward completion of 18 semester hours in early childhood education or child development, required
  • Must submit to or have passed required background checks including completion of Michigan Childcare License programs
  • Must complete or have completed and passed a fitness for duty physical and Tuberculosis test
  • Demonstrated aptitude and enthusiasm for working with children; kind, caring, patient, empathetic, creative and flexible
  • Current child/adult CPR certification and current certification in Standard First Aid
  • Strong planning and organizing skills
  • Willingness to participate in our staff development program
  • Have reliable transportation
  • Reliable and punctual with excellent work‑related attendance record
  • Able to withstand the strain of the position
  • Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Director may find appropriate and acceptable
Performance Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement lesson plans, activities and play that stimulate child development, including small and large group activities
  • Appropriately supervise children while maintaining a safe and harmonious environment
  • Supervise and make observations of children to determine developmental level and, under the supervision of the Director and/or Principal, conduct standardized screening of children
  • Provide leadership and support to the team of Learning Ladder paraprofessionals
  • Conduct oneself as a positive role model to children and care giving staff
  • Participate in Lamphere Learning Ladder staff meetings and staff development training programs
  • Plan and assist in preparing classroom displays and bulletin boards, room arrangement and the learning environment, consistent with the Lamphere Learning Ladder curriculum
  • Place orders and maintain records of expenses
  • Assist with meals, cleanup, wash up and hygiene routines
  • Such alternatives to the above as the Learning Ladder Director and/or principal may find appropriate and acceptable
  • Treat each child with dignity and respect while helping each child be successful
  • Responsible for student record keeping including quarterly child assessments and daily communication sheets
  • Establish positive relationships with parents including daily communication of student progress
  • Works cooperatively with school and Learning Ladder staff projecting the values of learning ladder at all times
  • Such alternatives to the above job duties as the Director may find appropriate and acceptable
Qualified Applicant Procedure
