Commercial Drywall Construction Estimator​/Project Manager in Madison Heights

Highly respected interior contractor with over 90 years of knowledge working in flooring, drywall, and acoustical in Metro-Detroit is looking to add an experienced Commercial Drywall Estimator/Project Manager to the team. • Point of contact with customers, superintendents and sub-contractors
• Create new and build stronger existing customer relationships
• Managing & estimating a project from beginning to end, ensuring that construction activities stay on schedule and within budget
• Interface with owner and others to provide engineering and cost data regarding project feasibility
• Project accounting functions including managing the budget, tracking the team expenses and minimizing exposure and risk in the project
• Estimate with detail, both quantitative material/equipment take-off & labor production
• Attend pre-bid meetings to ensure determine accurate scope of work and require contents of estimate
• Expert blueprint reading ability to accurately complete quantity material take-offs
• Transfer all costs/data to an estimating spreadsheet and maintain files of working documents as back-up for estimate figures
• Estimate extra work items, change orders, credits, procuring materials etc.
• Periodic inspection of construction sites and progress meetings when necessary

• Minimum of 5 years commercial drywall estimating experience
• Sound technical skills, analytical ability, and strong management focus
• Results-oriented, well organized and self-directed
• Proficient computer skills:
  Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook), Estimating Software (Edge Software experience)
• Detail driven and expert plan reading skills with ability to conceptualize drawings
• Understand drywall and ceiling and ceiling industry’s materials and methods
• Attention to detail and accuracy in a MUST
• Must be able to read and interpret all project specification manuals
• Knowledge of budgeting, cost estimating, and fiscal management principles and procedures
