Middle School Physical Education and Health Teacher

Madison District Public Schools is seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Physical Education and Health Teacher for our middle school. The successful candidate will foster a positive and inclusive environment, promote physical fitness and wellness, and help students develop lifelong healthy habits.

Qualifications:

• Valid Michigan teaching certificate in Physical Education and Health
• Strong classroom management and communication skills
• Passion for student wellness, fitness, and holistic health
• Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with students, parents, and staff
• Strong communication, technology, and organizational skills
• Experience with middle school-aged students preferred
• Competency in student management and supervision

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging physical education and health lessons aligned with state standards
• Promote the development of physical fitness, teamwork, and sportsmanship
• Assess student progress and provide feedback to students, parents, and administration
• Integrate health education, including nutrition, mental health, and personal wellness topics
• Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and engagement
• Maintain a safe and supportive learning environment for all students
• Participate in school activities, professional development, and collaborative planning
• Uphold district policies and procedures
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by their supervisor
