We are seeking a passionate and dedicated high school English teacher to join the Lamphere family. In this educational setting with a diverse student population, the successful candidate will inspire and educate students in a positive and engaging learning environment while developing and delivering a curriculum aligned with state and national standards. This role fosters critical thinking and problem-solving skills through active collaboration with colleagues and ongoing professional development.

Minimum qualifications:

• Valid Michigan teaching certificate with English (BA) endorsement for grades 6-12
• Michigan reading specialist certification, reading endorsement, or demonstrated coursework/training in literacy intervention preferred
• Additional certification in any of the following areas- social studies (RX or CX); science (DX) or mathematics (EX), preferred
• Ability to interact positively with, and motivate, students
• Ability to use data to plan and adjust instruction
• Excellent classroom management skills
• Ability to work with department colleagues to improve student outcomes
• Proficiency in Google Suite applications (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Forms, etc.) and online sourcing tools with functional knowledge of internet use for search platforms
• Willingness to accept responsibility for student learning and progress
• Ability to withstand the strain of teaching

Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the administration may find appropriate and acceptable. Employment is contingent upon disclosure in accordance with PA-189. Ability to withstand the strains and successfully manage the responsibilities of the position. Must demonstrate reliability and punctuality, with a strong record of consistent attendance. Regular and dependable presence during school hours is essential. All staff members are expected to maintain a professional and respectful attitude toward one another at all times.
