English Teacher - High School

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated High School English Teacher to join the Lamphere Family. In this educational setting with a diverse student population, the successful candidate will inspire and educate students in a positive and engaging learning environment while developing and delivering a curriculum aligned with state and national standards. This role fosters critical thinking and problem-solving skills through active collaboration with colleagues and ongoing professional development.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with English (BA) endorsement for grades 6-12
• Michigan Reading Specialist certification, Reading endorsement, or demonstrated coursework/training in literacy intervention preferred.
• Additional certification in any of the following areas
  - Social Studies (RX or CX);
  Science (DX) or Mathematics (EX), preferred
• Ability to interact positively with, and motivate, students
• Ability to use data to plan and adjust instruction
• Excellent classroom management skills
• Ability to work with department colleagues to improve student outcomes
• Proficiency in Google Suite applications (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Forms, etc.) and online sourcing tools with functional knowledge of internet use for search platforms
• Willingness to accept responsibility for student learning and progress
• Ability to withstand the strain of teaching
