Madison District Public Schools is seeking a compassionate and knowledgeable Special Education Teacher to serve children ages birth to three years who qualify for Michigan Mandatory Special Education under an Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP). Services are provided in accordance with Michigan Administrative Rule 340.1862, which defines a delivery model rather than a separate special education program. Instruction and support are delivered in a variety of natural environments, such as the home, childcare settings, and community locations, based on each pupil’s individual needs.

• Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with approval in Early Childhood Special Education (ZS) or endorsement appropriate for infants and toddlers.
• Knowledge of Michigan Administrative Rule 340.1862 and early intervention service models.
• Experience working with families and young children with developmental delays or disabilities preferred.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
• Ability to travel to home and community settings within the district.

• Provide special education services as specified in each child’s IFSP.
• Conduct developmental assessments and collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to determine eligibility and service needs.
• Partner with families to support developmentally appropriate learning within daily routines and natural environments.
• Develop and implement instructional strategies to promote cognitive, communication, motor, social-emotional, and adaptive skill development.
• Coordinate services and consult with related service providers and community agencies.
• Maintain required documentation, progress reports, and compliance with IDEA Part C regulations.
• Participate in ongoing professional learning related to early intervention practices and family-centered service delivery.
