Adhesive Dispensing Engineer

Sika’s Automotive and Industry team in Madison Heights, MI is looking to strengthen its ability to provide customers with adhesive and sealant application equipment support. Therefore, we are looking to fill the position of Adhesive Dispensing Engineer (internally titled Systems Engineer), noting this is NOT an IT role. This Adhesive Dispensing Engineer will be responsible for providing technical support to customers, as well as developing robust material dispensing strategies for Sika’s bulk dispensed materials.

• Work with customers and dispensing equipment vendors to verify Sika product compatibility and/or define new equipment requirements.
• Support customers with guidance on proper equipment needs and by validating applications through execution of lab testing and dispensing trials.
• Support the R&D team by defining existing application methods and by working with vendors to develop new methods and processes for application.
• Conduct customer site visits.
• Provide feedback to internal customers (Corporate TD/SENG, R&D, Marketing).
• Write and communicate technical service reports.
• Maintain safe and efficient LAS environments.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with equipment suppliers.
• Provide training to customers and employees.
• Participate in specialized fairs and conferences.
• Able to travel 30% in support of customer support and launch activities.
