BASIC PURPOSE

The Assistant Manager is responsible for assisting the Property Manager with the daily operations of the property. You will also be providing exceptional leadership to your team, while also focusing on your own professional development.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Preparing and scheduling property viewings, conducting property tours and interviewing prospective tenants.
  • Addressing and resolving residents' questions, concerns, and complaints in a timely manner.
  • Processing applications, conducting credit checks, and negotiating contracts.
  • Inspecting property conditions and coordinating maintenance activities.
  • Managing budgets, accounts, rent collections, and tenant notices.
  • Creating and distributing marketing materials to attract new tenants.
  • Maintaining organized and updated resident files and records.
  • Reporting any problems or issues to the property manager.
  • Operating a company vehicle or personal vehicle to perform job duties. Must be willing and able to drive for work-related purposes.
  • Working in a high-pressure environment, interacting with difficult customers/vendors, handling urgent matters, resolving conflicts, having effective interpersonal skills.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION
  • Minimum 1-2 years’ experience working in a similar role or related field
  • Ability to multi-task and quickly adapt to change
PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The position is required to regularly sit for long periods of time, walk, stand, climb stairs, and communicate with residents, staff, family members and the public.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • This position typically operates indoors in an air-conditioned office, with a mixture of natural, incandescent and fluorescent light.
  • May be exposed to varying weather conditions such as heat, cold, rain, and snow is common. May occasionally be exposed to extreme conditions, including high heat, humidity, freezing temperatures, and heavy rain while performing outdoor tasks.
  • Periodically be confined to a vehicle.
