About the Role

Systematic Manufacturing is hiring a Proto

TRAK CNC Lathe Machinist
for our 2nd shift operation in Madison Heights, Michigan. This is a steady, long-term opportunity for a CNC lathe operator who enjoys consistent production work, modern equipment, and a predictable four 10-hour day schedule with long weekends
.

You’ll be responsible for running production parts on twin-spindle and Swiss-type CNC lathes
, monitoring part quality, and keeping machines running efficiently in a clean, climate-controlled shop.


Shift: 2nd Shift (Monday–Thursday)
Schedule: 4×10s with long weekends
Pay: $22.00 – $28.00 per hour
Employment Type: Full-Time, Onsite

Key Responsibilities
  • Load and operate Proto

    TRAK CNC lathes

    , including twin-spindle and Swiss-type machines
  • Run production jobs according to setup sheets and job instructions
  • Inspect parts using micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring tools
  • Monitor tool wear and make basic offset adjustments as needed
  • Maintain clean, organized workstations and machines
  • Accurately record part counts and inspection results
  • Communicate machine, tooling, or quality issues to the lead machinist or setup technician
Qualifications
  • 1–3 years of CNC lathe operating experience (twin-spindle or Swiss preferred)
  • Ability to read basic blueprints and understand part tolerances
  • Familiarity with common inspection tools and basic CNC offsets
  • Strong attention to detail and consistent work habits
  • Experience with Fanuc or Citizen controls is a plus
Schedule & Pay
  • Shift: Monday – Thursday, 4:00 PM to 2:30 AM
  • Schedule: Four 10-hour shifts (long weekends every week)
  • Pay: $22.00 – $28.00 per hour, based on experience
  • Overtime available as needed
