Job OverviewOur client in Madison Heights is seeking multiple motivated and detail-oriented 2nd Shift Powder Coat Technicians to join their manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating powder coating equipment to apply durable, high-quality finishes to metal parts and products. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment where precision, safety, and efficiency are paramount.
Your expertise will contribute to delivering top-tier products while maintaining a safe and productive work environment during the second shift hours.
Shift: 3:00-11:30 P.M. M-F with occasional weekends
Lifting up to 20lbs
Duties- Set up and operate powder coating equipment, including airless paint sprayers and spray booths, ensuring proper application of coatings.
- Prepare metal parts and components by cleaning, masking, or sanding prior to coating to ensure optimal adhesion and finish quality.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment for minor repairs or adjustments to parts or equipment as needed.
- Handle materials safely using forklifts, cranes, or other warehouse handling equipment to move parts throughout the production process.
- Inspect finished products using precision measuring instruments and visual checks to verify coating quality and adherence to specifications.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols related to industrial painting, auto body repair, and manufacturing standards.
- Assist with troubleshooting equipment issues related to powder coating or finishing processes, applying mechanical knowledge and lean manufacturing principles.
- Experience operating forklifts, cranes, and other warehouse handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Mechanical knowledge of manufacturing machinery, machining tools, welding techniques, and auto painting processes.
- Familiarity with industrial painting techniques including airless paint spraying and auto body repair methods.
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and precision measuring instruments accurately.
- Strong understanding of materials handling procedures within a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
- Basic math skills for measurements, calculations related to coating thicknesses, or component dimensions.
- Knowledge of fabrication processes such as cutting, welding, assembly, and construction painting practices.
