About This RoleWe are seeking qualified contractors to fulfill the role of a Warehouse Shipper-Receiver Agent, supporting the processing and handling of inbound automotive parts, to the Parts Return Center facility located in our Madison Heights warehouse location, as part of broader supplier warranty recovery services. This on-site opportunity is open to individuals located in Madison Heights, MI and the surrounding areas. Additionally, the project hours of operation will be Monday - Friday, in which the candidate must be available to work an 8-hour shift between 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Eastern Time.
Shifts may vary due to business needs.
- Receive and process incoming part packages using facility inventory management systems
- Conduct high-level inspection of package conditions from courier and elevate any issues with damaged parts as needed
- Organize and store processed parts in designated storage locations within facility
- Organize parts for outbound shipping as needed and prepare for courier pickup. Maintain quality and service standards of the Parts Return Center processing team in support of the contracted Service Level Agreements
- Identify, recommend, and implement operational efficiencies to drive continuous improvement in the execution of processes
- Receive and log inbound supplier parts into inventory management systems
- Identify issues or damage with received parts and elevate as needed
- Handle and synchronize electronic and physical part movement throughout facility including to final storage location
- Optimize storage space utilization
- Prepare and consolidate parts for outbound shipping, meeting packaging and shipping requirements
- Work with designated logistics providers to ship in most cost-effective way
- Follow best practices for part storage and inventory management
- Utilize training resources and internal sites as required
- Maintain warehouse cleanliness and safety by keeping work areas organized, following safety procedures, and reporting hazards
- Warehouse Management System (WMS) for tracking and managing inventory
- Internal communication tools (e.g., email, messaging platforms) for team coordination
- Standard reporting tools for documenting daily activities
- Safety and compliance platforms for training and adherence
- High School Diploma
- 0-1 year of experience in warehouse operations or related field
- Forklift operation certification (not required and may only be used for specific, large items and pallets)
- Familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
- Knowledge of Automotive After Sales processes
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to work in rotational shifts and adapt to changing priorities
- Ability to lift heavy boxes, stand for long periods of time, and walk consistent distances within warehouse
- Computer proficiency (warehouse and inventory management systems)
- Attention to detail (accurate inventory management from receiving to outbound packaging and shipping)
- Basic understanding of supply chain and warehouse management principles
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and work under close supervision
