OverviewThe Senior Environmental Specialist serves as a senior technical resource and plays a critical role in supporting Olin's business objectives by applying advanced technical judgement to lead complex investigations, audits, drills, compliance reviews, and improvement projects. This role coordinates work across peers, contractors, and cross-functional teams. You will work closely with operations, maintenance, engineering, contractors, and leadership to deliver results that help strengthen management systems, improve regulatory compliance, reduce operational risk, and advance sustainable EH&S performance across the site and business.
WhatYou'll Do:
- Analyze complex data, trends, audit findings, and performance indicators to identify risks, prioritize actions, and support decision‑making
- Develop, revise, and maintain procedures, standards, reports, permits, and other documentation supporting management systems and regulatory obligations
- Support readiness for internal and external audits, inspections, and regulatory interactions, and provide technical leadership during follow‑up activities
- Monitor evolving regulatory, corporate, and industry requirements affecting assigned programs and recommend updates to processes, standards, and practices
- Promote a strong EH&S culture by reinforcing expectations, influencing stakeholders, encouraging hazard recognition and reporting, and supporting continuous improvement
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related discipline
- Minimum of 5 years of related experience
- Prior Olin or Chlor‑Alkali experience in a relevant position preferred
- Experience with SAP and environmental reporting databases preferred
- Knowledge of federal and state environmental regulations and compliance
- Must be available for on‑call coverage as necessary to support the plant (e.g., rotating on‑call support with other EH&S staff, fielding emergency employee calls, and going onsite for support in emergency instances)
- Must possess a valid US driver's license and be able to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC)
* Degree must be from a school that is accredited by an accrediting agency recognized by the Secretary of Education of the U.S. Department of Education or equivalent program from an international university.
