Job Description: As a Special Education Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in providing specialized instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs. You will collaborate closely with general education teachers, parents, and support staff to create inclusive learning environments that promote student success. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to meet the unique needs of each student.
  • Providing direct instruction in academic subjects, life skills, and social-emotional learning.
  • Differentiating instruction and adapting curriculum materials to ensure accessibility for students with disabilities.
  • Monitoring student progress through data collection and assessments, and adjusting instructional strategies accordingly.
  • Collaborating with families to foster a supportive home‑school partnership.
  • Maintaining accurate records and documentation as required by school policies and regulations.
  • Participating in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in special education.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Special Education or a related field (Masters degree preferred).
  • Valid State teaching license/certification in Special Education.
  • Experience working with students with disabilities, preferably in a K-12 educational setting.
  • Strong understanding of special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
  • Excellent munication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents, and external stakeholders.
