Seeking an experienced Maintenance & Reliability Manager to lead maintenance strategy and reliability initiatives at a major chemical manufacturing facility in Alabama
. This is a key leadership role focused on maximizing plant reliability, improving equipment performance, and driving safe, efficient operations across the site.
- Lead and manage all site maintenance and reliability activities to ensure safe and efficient plant operations
- Oversee troubleshooting, repair, and continuous improvement of complex chemical processing and ancillary equipment
- Drive preventive and predictive maintenance programs to improve equipment reliability and minimize downtime
- Lead site turnaround planning and execution efforts
- Implement reliability best practices and continuous improvement initiatives across the facility
- Collaborate closely with operations, engineering, safety, and management teams to optimize plant performance
- Manage maintenance departmental budgets, repair costs, and resource allocation
- Champion maintenance KPIs and departmental performance goals
- Support Process Safety Management (PSM), Health, Safety & Environmental initiatives, and regulatory compliance
- Ensure spare parts inventory and critical equipment lists are maintained effectively
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and training development for maintenance personnel
- Deliver monthly performance and progress updates to site leadership
- Support capital projects, equipment upgrades, and long-term plant improvement strategies
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited university (Mechanical Engineering preferred)
- 10+ years of plant maintenance experience within industrial manufacturing or chemical processing environments
- Minimum 5+ years of chemical plant experience preferred
- Strong understanding of maintenance planning, reliability engineering, and continuous improvement practices
- Experience with preventive and predictive maintenance systems and CMMS software
- Knowledge of chemical unit operations, rotating equipment, and electrical systems
- Familiarity with OSHA, EPA, NFPA, and Process Safety Management (PSM) standards
- Proven leadership experience managing maintenance teams and driving operational improvements
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication abilities
- Ability to work effectively across all levels of an organization
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and maintenance management systems
- Fluent in English (written and verbal)
