Tier 3 (L3) IT Infrastructure engineers comprise a technical team that deals with technical problems, including troubleshooting, configuration, database administration, and repair for servers, network, infrastructure, data center, email, file shares and other infrastructure issues. With years of experience they can manage and resolve almost any problem that requires high expertise and control operations at the infrastructure, cloud, network, and data center levels.
Responsibilities- Provide customer support by researching, diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving incidents that cannot be resolved by Tier 1 (L1); handle tickets routed by L1 or create new tickets for observed issues.
- Act as the front‑line interface between customers and the Product & Engineering team, serving as second‑level support under applicable service level agreements.
- Resolve technical support incidents or service requests, maintain accurate ticket records and update the knowledge base.
- Coordinate hardware warranty repairs, inventory management with asset management, and escalation to third‑party vendors when necessary.
- Execute on‑call 24x7 availability during non‑work hours, with flexible hours and overtime as required.
- Provide on‑site, operational support for remote management, installation, and troubleshooting of data center equipment.
- Manage end‑user related incidents and requests, acting as the go‑to person for all plant IT requests (e.g., password resets, access).
- Network (LAN, WAN, Wireless): troubleshoot and administer Cisco Layer 2 & Layer 3 routing, Cisco wireless networks, Cisco PBX, standard protocols, and satisfy Cisco CCNA requirements.
- Support IT cabling, infrastructure planning and design (cable patching, switch configuration, port enable/disable, network traffic analysis).
- Capture and analyze packets (e.g., using Wireshark) and maintain network, server, storage, and backup systems.
- Server management: administer Windows Server 2016/2012, monitor, troubleshoot, perform part swaps/repairs, and configure server hardware.
- Support hardware for servers, data backup libraries, SAN/NAS, and enterprise backup systems.
- Plant‑floor hardware support: responsive troubleshooting of manufacturing equipment (e.g., GALC, AER, PTCS), ANDON, PLC, and escalation to subject‑matter experts.
- Manage critical plant‑floor application support, root‑cause analysis for outages and problem management.
- Maintain knowledge of voice‑over‑IP hardware/software, machine‑data gathering tools, and monitoring software.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science or related field.
- 3 to 5 years of Level 3 responsibility experience.
- Proven expertise in Windows Server administration, Active Directory, group policy, and networking.
- Strong troubleshooting, problem‑solving, and root‑cause analysis skills for outage and problem management.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to work under pressure and deliver 15‑minute turnaround for critical plant‑floor incidents.
- Physical ability to lift 50 lb. and climb ladders/staircases for IT equipment access.
- Willingness to travel to other Toyota sites within the US on a short basis.
- Proficiency with remote control tools and remote support.
- Comfortable with 24x7 on‑call and flexible overtime work.
- Experience with PLCs and plant monitoring software (Active Plant, Wonderware, Ignition).
- Knowledge of iGear, Kepware, or other machine‑data gathering tools.
- Experience supporting a large corporate, manufacturing environment and mission‑critical applications.
- Experience managing storage and backup systems.
- Knowledge of Cisco Voice‑over‑IP hardware/software/server configuration.
- Discretionary annual incentive.

Base Salary Range: $70,000 to $80,000 per annum.
