Welder Set-Up Associate
$18/hour + Overtime | Temp-to-Hire
Location: Madison, AL (Commutable from Huntsville & Athens)
Shift:
- Monday–Thursday: 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM
- Friday: 7:30 AM – 2:00 PM
- Optional Overtime: 5:00 AM start & Saturdays (7:30 AM – 12:00 PM)

Position OverviewCloud Ray is hiring a Welder Set-Up Associate for a reputable automotive manufacturer near Huntsville, AL. This hands-on role involves bodywork, sanding, bonding, and preparation work to get modular units ready for paint and final assembly.

Key Responsibilities- Set up and assist welders with layout, bonding, and fabrication of metal components
- Measure, align, and fit parts for proper assembly
- Bolt, clamp, and tack-weld components into position
- Operate welding equipment to create and test trial work pieces
- Position and adjust fixtures, attachments, and work pieces using hand tools
- Build and modify fixtures for production processes
- Inspect finished assemblies to ensure quality and specifications are met
- Perform repairs such as straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
Drills, routers, rivet guns, jig saws, drill press, shear & brake machine, radial arm saw, milling machine, plasma torch
Requirements- At least 1 year of set-up experience with aluminum MIG welding (CNC experience is a plus)
- Automotive or manufacturing environment experience preferred
- Ability to read and understand blueprints and written instructions
- Basic math skills and ability to read a tape measure accurately
- Knowledge of basic hand tools (wrenches, hammers, cutters, etc.)
- Ability to lift 50–80 lbs and perform physical work
- Good hand-eye coordination and communication skills
- Willingness to work overtime as needed
- Must pass a background check and drug screening
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Closed-toe shoes required
