Light Industrial Assembler
Job DescriptionWe are seeking a skilled light industrial assembler to join our team in manufacturing components for military and defense applications. The role involves assembling circuit boards used in night vision goggles for the US Army and safety belts for coal miners. This position requires precision and attention to detail as it involves class 3 soldering of active PC boards to meet customer specifications.
Responsibilities- Enforce Quality Management procedures in the Manufacturing area.
- Inspect incoming items for quality compliance.
- Verify SMT line machine setup.
- Conduct First Article Inspections (FAI) of assembled products and complete related paperwork in accordance with AS9100 procedures.
- Document defects and convert data into a usable form.
- Perform final inspections of all outgoing hardware.
- Write QA reports as required by supervisor or management.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or management.
- Knowledge of IPC-A-610 requirements.
- Understanding of J-STD-001, Space Addendum soldering standards.
- Ability to read and interpret customer drawings.
- Proficiency in producing written reports.
- Capability to perform minor statistical calculations.
- Work independently with little or no supervision.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills, both orally and in writing.
- Comprehension and adherence to verbal and written instructions.
Skills & Qualifications
- Ability to identify components and understand polarity.
- Minimum 5 years of Quality Assurance or Quality Control experience in a related field.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 35 pounds a short distance.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Successful completion of a background and drug screening.
The position operates under a 4/10 schedule, working Monday to Thursday. The role requires working with electronic assembly, blueprints, and quality assurance inspections in a structured manufacturing environment.
Pay and BenefitsPay range: $20.00 - $23.50/hr.
