Production Manager, Manufacturing & Industrial Operations
The Stamping Group Lead is responsible for supervising production and team members while ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality operations within the stamping department. This role oversees daily production activities, monitors equipment performance, drives continuous improvement initiatives, and supports employee development through training and cross-functional collaboration.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise and support stamping department team leads and production associates to achieve safety, quality, and production goals.
- Ensure compliance with all safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements while promoting a strong safety culture.
- Monitor production schedules and verify products are manufactured according to quality standards and production requirements.
- Understand stamping press operations and coordinate with maintenance to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve equipment issues.
- Assist with production planning by reviewing inventory levels and recommending adjustments to improve workflow and efficiency.
- Develop and implement cross-training and job rotation plans to enhance workforce flexibility and productivity.
- Optimize staffing and labor utilization to maximize operational efficiency.
- Investigate production and efficiency concerns and implement corrective actions to improve performance.
- Support continuous improvement and cost reduction initiatives to meet departmental objectives.
- Monitor departmental performance related to quality, productivity, housekeeping, and safety standards.
- Provide coaching, guidance, and problem-solving support to team members and team leads.
- Maintain regular attendance and flexibility to work rotating shifts as required.
- Perform additional duties as needed to support operational objectives.
- Minimum of 2 years of manufacturing experience, including at least 1 year in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, preferably within a stamping environment.
- Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn manufacturing software systems.
- Ability to read and interpret work instructions and production documentation.
- Experience with Plex manufacturing software is a plus.
- Five or more years of stamping production experience.
- Two or more years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience leading continuous improvement, productivity, and employee development initiatives.
- Must be available to work rotating shifts and overtime to support operational needs.
