3x12, Days (7 a‑7 p), Rotating Weekends

About the Role

As a Registered Nurse (RN) you will support patients and community members across our North Alabama Medical Center hospitals, contributing to our mission of making communities healthier.

Team Overview

Our Post Surgical Overflow Medical‑Surgical Unit is a 32‑bed inpatient unit specializing in care for patients recovering from general, orthopedic, and neurosurgical procedures. Nurses manage a 1:6 nurse‑to‑patient ratio, providing comprehensive postoperative monitoring, pain management, and coordinated interdisciplinary care.

How You’ll Contribute
  • Accurately perform patient assessments and identify medical‑surgical needs
  • Perform post‑operative assessments and wound care
  • Document medical necessity in the medical record promptly and appropriately
  • Assist in multidisciplinary collaborations

Qualifications
  • Current Alabama or compact state RN license
  • Associate’s Degree in Nursing (required);
    Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred
  • Basic Life Support required
  • ACLS, PALS, and Handle With Care preferred
  • Experience preferred, but new grads welcomed to apply
