Overview
Position Summary...
Responsibilities- Drive sales in the Vision Center by ensuring effective merchandise presentation, accurate and competitive pricing, proper signing, in-stock and inventory levels, budgeting and forecasting, sales assessment of economic trends and community needs.
- Model, enforce and provide direction on customer/member service approaches to ensure needs, complaints, and issues are resolved within company guidelines and standards.
- Oversee implementation of and participate in community outreach programs and encourage associates to serve as active community members.
- Ensure compliance with company and legal policies, procedures and regulations for the Vision Center by analyzing and interpreting reports, implementing and monitoring asset protection and safety controls, conducting safety, operational and quality assurance reviews, and developing action plans to improve performance.
- Provide supervision and development opportunities for associates in the Vision Center through hiring, training, mentoring, assigning duties, recognizing performance, and fostering a sense of belonging.
- Ensure provision of quality eyewear by educating members/customers, selecting products based on needs, obtaining measurements, verifying prescriptions, maintaining confidentiality, performing minor frame repairs, and maintaining optical equipment.
- Uphold the company Open Door Policy by meeting with associates, researching issues, reviewing policies, and suggesting resolutions; coordinate and oversee related job activities and assignments; build relationships with stakeholders; identify goals and opportunities; measure progress; promote continuous learning.
- Support a culture of belonging by respecting individuals, collaborating, building trust, and encouraging development and recognition of associates.
- Act with integrity by upholding high standards of ethics and compliance, modeling company values, holding self and others accountable, and contributing to Walmart’s broader goals.
- Deliver customer/member focus by applying EDLP/EDLC business models to plans, balancing short- and long-term priorities, and considering customers, associates, shareholders, suppliers, partners, and communities in decision-making.
- Strive for excellence by fostering curiosity, calculated risk-taking, resilience, and continuous improvement through new technologies and skills.
- Completion of 2 or more years of college OR 1 year’s retail experience and 1 year’s supervisory experience OR 2 years’ general work experience including 1 year’s optical experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Current eligibility to work as an optician or apprentice optician under applicable state laws, regulations, and/or rules.

Note: The hourly wage range for this position is $24.50 - $34.50. Actual rate will meet or exceed applicable minimums. Additional compensation may include region-based pay zones and performance bonuses.
